Matt received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Youngstown
State University in 1998, graduating Summa Cum Laude and has more than
12 years of public accounting experience with an emphasis in taxation. While
in college, Matt worked as an audit staff member for the Auditor of State and
remains in contact with key staff members of the Youngstown Region to keep
abreast of any changes or issues related to governmental accounting.
Upon graduation, Matt began work in the accounting industry with an area
firm. He has served as President of Youngstown State University's Honorary
Accounting Fraternity, Alpha Tau Gamma and continues to be involved with
the university staff and students. He is a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public
Accountants. Matt is also an active member of the Poland Rotary. Also, he
was recently selected as a 2010 40 Under 40 Honoree, which recognizes his
accomplishments in the areas of business, community and charity.
Matt is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP),
a designation indicating a mastery of knowledge in a variety of areas of
construction, including accounting, taxation, legal, human resources, information
technology, insurance and bonding. There is currently only slightly more than
500 CCIFP's in the United States and only about 30 in Ohio.
In his role at Bodine Perry, Matt manages the firm's Tax Department. He has a
strong background in corporate, individual and partnership taxation. He also
concentrates on the installation, application and implementation of computer
network and accounting systems.
His clientele consist of a variety of entities in all areas of business, with strong
backgrounds in construction, professional services, and medical practices. Matt
also has experience relating to assisting clients with the preparation of forecasted
financial statements, cash flow projections, bonding and financing.
